Hired by an international committee of a very high profile.

Post-Doctoral research

École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne IC IIF DIAS Laboratory
Supervised by Prof. Anastasia Ailamaki.

My research is on cloud and scientific data management. My research focuses on the incorporation of the notion of cost in the provision of data management solutions. I have developed a novel data-aware economy model appropriate for cloud data service providers. My goal is to satisfy primarily the management needs of scientific data, which can greatly benefit from the provision of cheap but efficient cloud data services.

Studies

PhD studies

Ph.D. Studies in Computer Science
Computer Science Division of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens
Supervised by Prof. Timos Sellis.

Ph.D. Thesis:
I have completed my Ph.D. thesis in the general area of Data Management, in the Computer Science Division of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, under the supervision of Prof. Timos Sellis.
My research focuses on issues that relate to the general problem of data sharing and query processing in loosely coupled distributed environments, such as Peer-to-Peer systems. I considered and solved problems that relate to structured and unstructured data in both structured and unstructured flat overlays.
SUBJECT: Query Processing in P2P Overlays.

Master studies

Master of Science
Computer Science Department of the University of Toronto
Supervised by Prof. John Mylopoulos

M.Sc. Thesis:
Completed the thesis for the M.Sc. program of the Computer Science Department of the University of Toronto, in the Database field under the supervision of Prof. John Mylopoulos.
My research was focused on the design and implementation of a mechanism that enables the creation and furthermore the parallel and distributed processing of triggers in a multi-database system.
SUBJECT: A Rule Mechanism for Peer-to-Peer Data Management.

Undergraduate studies

Enrolled, after nation-wide examinations, in the National Technical University of Athens, in the Electrical and Computer Engineering School.

Diploma of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Specialty in Computer Science
Electrical and Computer Engineering School of the National Technical University of Athens

Diploma Thesis:
Completed the diploma thesis for the undergraduate program of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, at the Knowledge and Databases laboratory, under the supervision of Prof. Timos Sellis.
SUBJECT: Design and implementation of a tool for the creation of spatiotemporal scenarios with emphasis in geometrical transformations.
